Tagehus’ roots go back to the construction company founded by Tage Ljungberg in Stockholm in 1946.
Tage focuses on building villas and apartments to meet the demand for housing after the Second World War. The scale of the business is small and Tage knows many of his tenants personally. Honesty, good customer relations and the satisfaction of both parties were – and still are – fundamental values.
The business is being expanded to include real estate ownership and the development of existing properties.
Tage Ljungberg’s children Åke Ljungberg and Birgitta Holmström start working in the company.
At the end of the decade, the business is divided into two companies, LjungbergGruppen with mainly commercial premises while other holdings are placed in Tagehus Förvaltning AB.
T Ljungberg BV is established in the Netherlands in connection with the acquisition of a hotel property in central Amsterdam in the early 1990s. LjungbergGruppen is listed on the stock exchange in 1994.
LjungbergGruppen merged with Atrium Fastigheter in 2006 to form Atrium Ljungberg.
Tagehus Holding AB is formed in 2010 and takes over most of the operations of Tagehus AB, formerly Tagehus Förvaltning AB. The change takes place in connection with a restructuring where Tagehus divests all residential properties in central Stockholm and at the same time increases its ownership in Atrium Ljungberg. Based on real estate and real estate-related investments, Tagehus’ operations have been developed and broadened to include other investment areas.
